South Africa has plenty to offer. European tourists often come for a bit of winter sun. While the climate is perfect for a relaxing break and spot of game viewing in our world famous national parks, there are those that seek out a more daring experience.
When it comes to adventure the possibilities are endless.
Whichever Province you decide to visit you’ll find a range of adventure activities to get your blood pumping.
Along the coastline of the stunning Garden Route you’ll find Bloukrans Bridge. The bungee here is the highest bridge bungee in the WORLD. Not in SA, not Africa – the world. You will be asked to sign an indemnity form that says you do not hold Face Adrenalin responsible for any injuries you might sustain … gulp.
If bungee is your thing you can also try out the Orlando Towers experience in Gauteng, or the massive Moses Mabhida Stadium swing in Durban.
Table Mountain paints a beautiful backdrop for the “Mother City” as locals affectionately call it. While hiking the mountain is an experience in itself, the more adventurous might find themselves hanging off the edge during a spot of abseiling or even flinging themselves from the heights on a tandem paragliding experience.
Not a big fan of heights? Perhaps a close encounter with a great white is more to your liking? Shark diving currently rates as one of the most sought-after and adventurous activities in South Africa. South Africa is a perfect venue for shark diving, with thousands of miles of beach and ocean to explore and enjoy.
If you don’t want to get wet you can still enjoy the sharks of South Africa. Almost every visitor to South Africa goes to Cape Town. It is definitely worth taking a trip to see the flying sharks of False Bay. Most of the sharks you will see flinging themselves out of the water are great whites in excess of 4 meters and weighing in at over 1 ton.
For those that want a rush but prefer to remain grounded we’d suggest taking a turn on the “Dragon Dune”, this is the biggest and longest sandboard ride in South Africa.
Whatever lifts your skirt South Africa has some amazing experiences on offer.
Make a trip of it and enjoy the thrills and spills of adventure activities in South Africa!

Bungee JUMP – Orlando Towers
The hugely adrenaline-intensive bungee jump from Orlando Towers in Soweto, near Johannesburg, is the first one in the world to be set up between the cooling towers of a power station. A disused power station, of course. Bungee jumping from a working power station would be extreme indeed.
