The hugely adrenaline-intensive bungee jump from Orlando Towers in Soweto, near Johannesburg, is the first one in the world to be set up between the cooling towers of a power station. A disused power station, of course. Bungee jumping from a working power station would be extreme indeed.
The Orlando Towers are built on what was originally the site of a coal-fired power station. The building of the Orlando Power Station started in 1935, but took some 20 years to be completed, thanks to unforeseen delays caused by World War II. It was then shut down in 1998 and would stand vacant and unused for another 10 years before being transformed into the awesome adventure and business centre that it is today. Our awesome staff will assist you in making this the experience of a lifetime, whether you need some calming reassurance or the big 1-2-3 when jumping from our suspension bridge with a rubber cord around your feet.
