6.00 AM: Upphämtning

Det är en tidig start! Du kommer att hämtas från din inkvarteringsplats. Detta gäller endast för upphämtning och avlämning i Durban City, kontakta oss gärna om du är osäker på om din upphämtningsplats omfattas. Om din upphämtningsplats inte omfattas kommer vi ändå att hämta dig, men det kan tillkomma en extra avgift beroende på var du är baserad.

9.30 AM: Hluhluwe Imfolozi

Från upphämtningen är det cirka 2,5 timmars bilresa till Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. Under resan berättar din guide lite historia för dig och du uppmuntras att ställa frågor för att få ut så mycket som möjligt av safarin. Du kan vara säker på att du kommer att resa i absolut komfort eftersom Tim Brown Tours använder en Ford Tourneo eller en Ford Everest för att genomföra alla turer. Detta gäller i mån av tillgång och Tim Brown Tours förbehåller sig rätten att ordna med alternativa fordon.

1.00 PM: Hilltop Camp

När du har nått din destination, Hluhluwe Imfolozi, kommer din guide att ta hand om de nödvändiga inträdeskraven i parken, varefter du tar en långsam Game Drive mot Hilltop Camp. Din guide kommer att utbilda dig om områdets historia samt genomföra en 4-timmars spelkörning i ett stängt luftkonditionerat fordon så att du kan uppleva det fantastiska djurlivet som Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve har att erbjuda i komfort. Ha kamerorna redo! Beroende på tid stannar vi till vid Hilltop Camp där du får möjlighet att sträcka på benen. Utsikten från terrassen kommer inte att lämna någon tvekan om att namnet "Hilltop" har valts på rätt sätt. Här har du också möjlighet att titta på observationstavlan som ger dig en uppfattning om vilka djur som har setts under dagen och möjlighet att lägga till dina egna observationer. Om tiden tillåter kan vi vila för lunch (detta avgörs av din guide och ingår inte i turen. Alla måltider är för egen räkning).

4.00 PM: Avresa till Durban

Återigen får du chansen att se lite vilt när du lämnar Hilltop Camp och går mot utgångsporten. Efter safarituren är det tyvärr dags att återvända till Durban.

6.30 PM: Avlämning

Ungefärlig tid för ankomst till Durban.

 

 

HISTORIA

Hluhluwe Imfolozi är det äldsta förklarade naturreservatet och omfattar 96 000 ha. År 1890 fanns det färre än 100 vita noshörningar i områdena i och runt Hluhluwe Imfolozi och det är främst tack vare denna park, som fick formellt erkännande som ett skyddat djurreservat 1895, på grund av risken för utrotning av denna magnifika varelse, som vi har turen att se den vita noshörningen i sin naturliga livsmiljö idag. I detta skede fanns det bara cirka 20 sydliga vita noshörningar kvar på jorden och de fanns alla i Imfolozi-området.

År 1960 hade deras antal förbättrats så drastiskt att man var tvungen att ingripa för att undvika överbefolkning. Noshörningarna flyttades till skyddade områden utanför parken och detta initiativ drevs av den dåvarande Natal Parks Board. Omlokaliseringsprocessen var inte alltid enkel och det fanns dödsoffer. Operationen ansågs dock vara en stor framgång. Hluhluwe Imfolozi har nu den största populationen av vita noshörningar i världen. Men de är under ständig belägring och det är vår plikt som beskyddare av denna värld att se till att vi inte drabbas av samma katastrof som vi gjorde i slutet av 1800-talet.

*Fråga din guide* - Det finns två olika noshörningsarter i parken, den svarta och den vita. Fråga din guide om deras kännetecken, vanor och se om du kan identifiera arten korrekt om du skulle få en chans att se en av dessa magnifika varelser.

Elefanten - mild, klok och med förmågan att gå med sådan elegans med tanke på sin storlek - har alltid fascinerat dem som besöker parken. Hanarna känns igen på sitt rundade huvud, sina tjockare och större betar och sin större kroppsstorlek. Honorna har ett platt huvud som kommer ner i vinkel mot bålen. The Big 5 - lejon, leopard, noshörning, elefant och buffel - klassificerades som sådana eftersom de var och är de farligaste djuren att jaga till fots, där buffeln är den farligaste.

Förutom Big 5 och de olika andra stora däggdjursarterna som finns i parken, är parken hem för över 1200 växtarter, det finns ett rikt fågelliv, reptiler samt små killar - förbise inte de små killarna. Kom ihåg att här har dyngbaggen företräde.

• All quoted prices do not include a service fee which varies depending on the payment method you have selected and will be for your account in addition to the quoted price. The various payment methods as well as an estimate of the service fee are listed below:

• Tim Brown Tours accept no responsibility for loss due to error in pricing or banking details as well as liability and responsibility for loss due to bank charges.


• All deviation from the specified tours listed on timbrowntours.com will be for your expense as this will be viewed as a custom tour and Tim Brown Tours reserves the right to charge an additional amount at their discretion.

Tour Vehicle

• Dependent on availability, all tours are conducted in an 8 seater Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Quantum 10 seater or similar make and model.


• Should you or your party require a larger vehicle, the additional expense for the hire of such vehicle will be for your account.


• Should you or your party require an open vehicle, the additional expense for the hire of such vehicle will be for your account.


• Tim Brown Tours reserves the right to choose a make and model of vehicle for your tour as they deem fit.

Number of guests

• A minimum of 2 (Two) guests are required for a safari/tour to operate.


• Tim Brown Tours are willing to make an exception to the policy of a minimum of 2 guests but this is at the sole discretion of Tim Brown Tours and does carry an additional charge which will be for your account.

Deposit and Cancellation of Booking

• All Tours/Safaris are subject to you securing a booking and upon Tim Brown Tours confirming your booking.


• A deposit of 50% of the total cost of the tour will be required if your booking has been made at least 30 days prior to the tour/safari commencing.


• A deposit of 100% of the total cost of the tour will be required if your booking is made within 30 days or less of the tour/safari commencing.


• Should you need to cancel the booking for whatever reason, and such cancellation is made at least 31 days prior to the tour/safari commencing, Tim Brown Tours will endeavour to refund you the deposit amount subject to Tim Brown Tours Provider’s Policies. Note that this excludes Group Bookings.


• Should you need to cancel the booking for whatever reason, and such cancellation is made within 30 days or less of the tour/safari commencing, you agree to forfeit the 50% deposit of the total booking cost made. Note that this excludes Group Bookings


• Should you have paid 100% of your total booking cost, and you wish to cancel your booking for whatever reason, you will forfeit 50% of the total booking cost. Tim Brown Tours however will try their utmost to refund you’re the remaining 50% dependent on Provider’s Policies. Note that this excludes Group Bookings.


• Where a party in a Group Booking wishes to cancel an Overnight Safari/Tour booking for whatever reason, within 30 days or prior to 30 days of a tour/safari commencing, no refund is due to you as you and your party accept that Tim Brown Tours has incurred costs for securing accommodation.

Liability

• Tim Brown Tours, their affiliates and guides cannot be held liable and take no responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, sickness, death, injury or schedule changes.


• It is your responsibility to arrange insurance for the above listed in Clause 7.1.


• All those booked with Tim Brown Tours accept full and sole risk of any and all incidents listed in 7.1. above.
